Covid tests

Physiotest performs covid testing with sampling for ongoing infection, antibodies and risk group analysis.

The health service carries out tests on people with symptoms of illness. Proactive mapping of the infection situation in workplaces provides a basis for making the right decisions for the business and can thus have a positive impact on financial results and KPIs.Fysiotest also issues travel certificates for travellers. We collaborate with coronapassport.se where the latest information is available.

Still, some countries require that entrants be tested negative for covid-19, but the rules are not uniform and can change at short notice. Some countries accept antigen testing, others require that the PCR test analysis be performed by a laboratory accredited to ISO 17025 or ISO 15189.

At www.coronapassport.se you will find updated information, country by country, available from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and IATA. Fysiotest offers PCR and antigen tests for ongoing infection, antibody tests after infection and issues certificates according to the requirements of each country.

Response time for rapid antigen and antibody tests is about 10-15 minutes. You will receive the results of your PCR and quantitative antibody test 1-2 days after your test (longer analysis time during weekends may occur).

Explanation and purpose of different test methods

The Public Health Agency recommends that all staff who have cold symptoms should stay at home until they have been fully recovered for at least two days. By regularly testing employees for the virus, you can maintain a higher capacity and get employees back more quickly after illness.

PCR-TEST- for ongoing infection

About the test
The current "gold standard" for testing against ongoing infection. It responds to low levels of virus and even residual virus. The analysis is carried out in an accredited laboratory: Life Genomics AB.

Response time
1-2 days from test completion to result.

Quality
High specificity and sensitivity - where sensitivity usually depends on how sick the patient is (i.e. how much virus the patient has in the body).Read more under "How safe is the test?" below.

Applications
For testing people with ongoing symptoms.

ANTIGENTEST- for ongoing infection

About the test
Good to use for broader screening as an extra precaution to minimise the risk of infection entering the workplace. Quick and easy test that detects ongoing infection. Measures the presence of the Sars-Cov-19 virus surface protein. The test is manufactured by Abbot and used by e.g. Region Skåne.Response time15 minutes

Quality
The latest developed antigen tests have a sensitivity and specificity comparable to PCR testing.

Applications
Complement to PCR for screening in workplaces and in situations where large groups need to be tested quickly.

Additional safety measure to existing measures and recommendations to further reduce the risk of spread.

ANTIBODYTEST- for passed infection

About the test
Used to detect if a person has undergone the infection and has antibodies in their blood. This means that the person has built up some immunity and protection against reinfection. The test comes from Noviral AB.

Response time
15 minutes

Quality
High specificity and sensitivity.

Applications
Used as a screening for antibodies in asymptomatic employees to provide the company with information to limit the spread of infection in the workplace.

ANTIBODYTEST- analysis of the amount of antibodies in case of infection

About the test
Used to detect the amount of antibodies in the blood after infection or vaccination. Answered numerically in units according to the WHO standard. Note that the level of antibodies that confer immunity to covid-19 is not clear, however, the greater the amount of antibodies, the better the protection. The analysis is carried out by an accredited laboratory: Unilabs AB

Response time
1-2 days from test to result

Quality
High specificity and sensitivity.

Applications
Used as a screening for antibodies in asymptomatic employees, providing the company with information to limit the spread of infection in the workplace.

Where is the test taken?
Arrow down icon

Testing is preferably carried out on company premises with applied restrictions.

How is the test conducted?
Arrow down icon

To minimise the spread of infection during sampling, we follow the recommendations of the National Board of Health and Welfare and the National Board of Public Health regarding sampling. We invite each employee to individual times so that queuing is minimised.

The test is carried out at the workplace in a room where only two people may be present at the same time. Employees with symptoms will not be admitted and will be referred to the health service.

How reliable is the test?

PCR tests

Sensitivity:
100%
Specificity:
97.73%

Antigen tests

Sensitivity:
96.52%
Specificity:
99.62%

Antibody tests
Sensitivity:
Ig-M 100% & Ig-G 100%
Specificity:
Ig-M 100% & Ig-G 99.2%

Sensitivity is the proportion of true positive results that the test correctly identifies as positive.
Specificity is the proportion of true negative results that the test correctly identifies as negative.
